Loran Stosskopf, will present his redesign of Télérama, as well various recent projects for cultural institutions like the French Ministry of Culture, Paris Musées, etc. Fred Smeijers, type designer will discuss about mixing type of yesterday, today and tomorrow, illustrating his vision with recent type design projects. It’s the last #tptalks15 of the summer, don’t miss this unique event, Type@Paris students will present their almost finished projects too.
The TypeParis evening Talks (in english) open its doors at 19:00 at le Tank, Paris.
Each Wednesday: two speakers + one facilitator
Each attendee will receive a free tote-bag full of goodies: type specimens, brochures, note-book, stickers and so on! Sponsors corners, Type&Paris type design program attendees meet up, and various attractions planned, as well as dishes and drinks.
Our Talks will be given in English (by our international guests speakers) as they will be livestream. Meanwhile, as the TypeParis Talks are organized in Paris, France, most of attendees will be Parisians. Le Français sera largement employé par les participants lors de l’inscription et des échanges nombreux durant la soirée.

Loran Stosskopf, born in 1978, graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and continued his studies at the Cooper Union School of Art in New York. After a stint with the Atelier de Création Graphique, he began his professional career with the Pentagram design studio in London. Since 2002, he has also done international project work in the fields of press, art, fashion and architecture.
Fred Smeijers is a Dutch type designer, teacher, researcher, and writer. After studying at the school of art at Arnhem, he worked as a typographic advisor, then became a founding member of the graphic design practice Quadraat, which provided the name for his first published typeface (FontFont, 1992).
Smeijers is a research fellow at Plantin Museum in Antwerp, professor of type design at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig, and the creative director at OurType.
Jean François Porchez
Founder of Typofonderie, type director of ZeCraft, Jean François Porchez is one of the pioneers of digital typography. Transmitter of knowledge and discoverer of talents, teamwork is at the heart of his concerns. It is also for these reasons that he launched TypeParis in 2015. He was awarded the Prix Charles Peignot in 1998 and numerous prizes for his typefaces. Introduced to French Who’s Who in 2009. In 2014, Perrousseaux publishes his monograph. Knight in the order of Arts and Letters in 2015. The President of France, Emmanuel Macron use his typefaces for his communication since 2017.
