Tyrsa, french lettering artist and Nadine Chahine, type design and legibility specialist at Monotype will present their work and vision of typography. A unique moment to discover their latest projects.
The TypeParis evening Talks (in english) open its doors at 19:00 at le Tank, Paris.
Each Wednesday: two speakers + one facilitator
Each attendee will receive a free tote-bag full of goodies: type specimens, brochures, note-book, stickers and so on! Sponsors corners, Type&Paris type design program attendees meet up, and various attractions planned, as well as dishes and drinks.
Our Talks will be given in English (by our international guests speakers) as they will be livestream. Meanwhile, as the TypeParis Talks are organized in Paris, France, most of attendees will be Parisians. Le Français sera largement employé par les participants lors de l’inscription et des échanges nombreux durant la soirée.

Alexis Taïeb (aka Tyrsa)
Alexis Taïeb (AKA Tyrsa) began his creative journey as a teenage graffiti artist on the streets of Paris. As his obsession with lettering and typography evolved he was offered a place at Gobelins School (Paris) to study what he calls the love of his life. His portfolio shows a profound understanding of how lettering can be both functional and beautiful at the same time. Describing his work Alexis explains that he’s always striving to attain one goal: to reinvent the letter, but never lose its meaning or its beauty.
Dr. Nadine Chahine is an award winning Lebanese type designer working as the Arabic and Legibility Specialist at Monotype. She has an MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading, UK, and a PhD from Leiden University, The Netherlands. Nadine’s research focus is on eye movement and legibility studies for the Arabic, Latin, and Chinese scripts.
Michael works in the Adobe Creative Cloud team. He’s been passionate about the web since the 90’s and worked as an interactive designers in creative agencies. In 2000, he co-founded a startup with Cyril Reinhard which quickly became a reference in the Digital Publishing industry and became a european PDF expert. Then he joined Adobe in 2006 as a Rich Internet Application expert. He has given talks around the world about Web Design, Video Making and Typography to inspire young creatives. He also initiated events such as the Adobe Creative Jams, a world-wide creative tournament.
